Update June 2026: This pattern also includes instructions for modifications to make a Trash Grouch version and a Cookie Jar version.
28 pages with over 100 color photos & info graphics to help walk you through the process as well as printer friendly instructions. This pattern is worked in the round and some parts are worked flat. Advanced sewing is required for joining components. Requires use of craft felt for face details. Requires knowledge of basic crochet stitches as well as joining amigurumi parts. Some amigurumi experience is recommended.
When using Bernat Blanket:
As Raccoon: 9 inches tall (Tail included) & 7 inches wide (Arms included)
As Trash Can: 6.5 inches tall & 5 inches wide
This pattern is written in English using US crochet terms and is intended for use with blanket yarn. I used Premiere Basix, but it works well with Bernat Blanket, Parfait Chunky, Sweet Snuggles, Yarn Bee Cozy Occasion, or any other super bulky or bulky weight yarn.
Materials needed:
Approx. 90yds Premier Basix Chenille (or comparable blanket yarn) in gray
Approx. 3yds Premier Basix Chenille (or comparable blanket yarn) in black
6.5mm crochet hook
Polyfil stuffing (or stuffing material of choice)
Black & white craft felt for facial details
Optional Heat N Bond iron on adhesive for felt details
E6000 or adhesive of choice for attaching felt facial details
Yarn needle, scissors, stitch markers
